About You: You desperately and deeply want to experience peace in your life. How can I be certain of this? Because everyone has a certain amount of stress in their life, and underneath that stress is a desire for peace.
For some, peace is escaping a behavioral pattern that has kept them stuck in sadness and worry for years.
For others, it may be understanding their children better, rediscovering the joy and vitality in life, and freeing themselves from the chronic fatigue that saps life from their years and years from their life.
While the scenarios are different, ultimately each of us is looking for the same thing – peace.
If you are reading this, you may be living a life of “quiet desperation”. You may feel lost or stuck. You may be asking yourself, “Is this all there is?”
You want to experience more joy, more vitality, and more peace in your life. You just aren’t sure how to get it. Everything you have tried on your own has not seemed to work, and everything you have been told about how to achieve the peace you seek has either been misleading, disappointing or completely wrong.

Now, if you still want to know more about me, if you are looking for boring details (hey I understand, some people are into that), then continue reading below.
I’m Dr. Sean Smitham. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University. I’ve been in private practice in Spokane, WA since I moved here in 2007. I grew up in Butte, MT, completed my undergraduate studies in Bozeman, MT and attended graduate school in Kalamazoo, MI. I completed a pre-doctoral internship at Girls and Boys Town in Omaha, NE (the Nation’s premier residential treatment center for at-risk children and their families). I stayed on to complete a two-year post-doctoral residency in the Behavioral Pediatrics and Family Services Clinic at Girls and Boys Town before returning to the mountain west.
I count myself truly blessed to have friends who are like family, and family I consider my closest friends. I enjoy jazz, blues, books, bookstores, wine, beer, ultimate frisbee, and spending time with family and friends. Mostly, I’m committed to living a rich life full of energy and vitality. I’m committed to living a life of significance and purpose. I’m committed to living and leaving a legacy. And I’m committed to helping others do the same.
If you are ready to rediscover the energy, confidence, and vitality you once had for life. If you are ready to reclaim your birth right of personal peace and personal power, then I’m ready to assist you along that journey. In fact, it would be my pleasure to do so. When do we start?
